Arbutin is a naturally-occurring compound found in many plant sources such as bearberry, mulberry, and pomegranate.

Alpha Arbutin works by inhibiting an enzyme called tyrosinase within melanocytes.

Melanocytes control the melanin production - melanin is responsible for the pigment levels which imparts the skin its colour. In simpler words, less tyrosinase means less pigment, which means less discolouration and unwanted dark spots.

Protects the skin against harmful environmental conditions such as the toxic effect of UVA and UVB sun rays.

Has antioxidant effect.
